Power connector loose or broken – This is one of the most common repairs we see. This is a fairly routine repair but like most things, it must be done properly to avoid having this problem reoccur. This job requires soldering and must be done on top and bottom of laptop board to ensure proper connector integrity. In some cases the connector must be replaced. Dead Motherboard (No power) – A dead motherboard can mean a lot of things so this repair requires the testing of components to locate the source of the problem. We are great at bringing motherboards back to life and have a very high success rate. If a repair store tells you your motherboard is dead and has to be replaces you should have us look at it for a $50.00 inspection fee. You could save hundreds repairing it instead of replacing. Estimated repair cost $265.00 to $295.00 parts and labour.

Quirky Motherboard or Video Card (Strange behaviour or display) – Intermittent power issues or graphics problems can be corrected, but sometimes it is simply not repairable. If that happens to be the case, we can still replace the motherboard to get it going again. Estimated repair cost $265.00 to $295.00 parts and labour. Estimated replacement cost $249.00 to $595.00 parts and labour.

Overheating and Shutting Down – Heat is the enemy of electrical components. If a cooling fan stops working, or too much dust gets into the heatsink assembly, your processor will run at a higher temperature. When a temperature threshold has been reached, the processor will shut down immediately to prevent heat damage. We recommend a delicate but thorough cleaning to avoid this situation. In addition, we will remove the stale gunk on your CPU and replace it with Arctic Silver thermal compound for the maximum temperature reduction. Estimated cleaning fee $85.00 to $125.00. Estimated cost to replace a cooling fan $145.00 to $175.00 parts and labour (includes cleaning).

Dim LCD Screen Reason 1 – A dim LCD screen usually spells bad inverter. The inverter is a device that is connected between the video card and the LCD panel. Inverter replacement is a fairly simple repair and can be done quickly. Estimated Repair Cost $135.00 to $165.00 parts and labour.

Dim LCD Screen Reason Number 2 – The second reason for a dim LCD screen a burnt out LCD lamp or backlight. This lamp is located inside the LCD panel. There are two ways to remedy this issue. The first and least expensive is backlight replacement. This procedure requires the LCD panel to be opened up and the internal lamp replaced. Estimated Repair Cost $195.00. The second option to correct this issue is to replace the LCD panel. Estimated Repair Cost from $175.00 plus $60.00 Installation.

Broken LCD Panel (Dropped or stepped on) – We have a 100% success rate with replacing broken LCD panels. We carry a wide selection of LCD panels and hard to find laptop screens. Keyboard not working (Spilled coffee or wine or juice) – Spilling liquid on a laptop usually results in a few keys not working or sometimes the whole keyboard may malfunction. Keyboards are replaced not repaired. Estimated replacement $65.00 to $95.00 including installation (While you Wait Service*)

Keys Missing on Keyboard (Usually caused by little ones plucking your keys off) If you find yourself missing individual keys on an otherwise good working keyboard, we can save you money buy replacing just the keys without having to replace the entire keyboard. First key $15.00.  $10 each additional key. (While you wait service*)
